The nightmare continues as Jan. 2009 U.S. vehicle sales declined substantially again from the prior period one year ago (-37%). BMW, however, reported a decline of 'only' 15%. Sales of the E60 were remarkably strong, down just 6.3% from Jan. 2008. By comparison, sales of the MB E-Class fell 41% and the Audi A6 was down 21%.

Kia, Subaru, Hyundai, Jaguar, and Smart were the only brands to post gains over January from last year.

What's Hot
Smart ForTwo + 154%
Subaru Forester +115%
Audi A5 +76%
BMW X5 +23%
MB GLK-Class (outsold BMW X3 by 3:1)

What's Not
Chrysler 300 -71%
Jeep Commander -71%
MB S-Class -69%
Audi A8 -65%
BMW X3 - 64%
MB CLS - 58%

Didn't they just introduce a new 7-Series as a '09 model?
