BMW brand sales in the U.S. were sharply down in January. BMW sold 14,475 units, down 27% from the same month one year ago. Mini sales were up 20%, however, to 2,460. Mini sales were up by the largest percentage among the 37 brands measured in the U.S., while BMW brand sales fell more than any other brand except Jaguar.
Mercedes-Benz unit sales were up 7% to 18,275. Audi sales were flat at 6,418 units.
BMW E60 sales in January were 2,771, down 17% from last year. MB E-Class sales were 2,980, down 12%. Audi A6 sales were 983, up 9%.
Every BMW model saw reduced sales in January:
3 series -33%
X3 -39%
X5 - 5%
Z4 -23%
6 series -30%
7 series -29%.

Amazing. One thing to consider - the CTS and C-Class are new for 08. To the Caddy's credit, it is a pretty sharp (for a Caddy) design. Car of the Year does help. The Prius? Gas inching toward the $4/gallon mark drives that gas/electro tin-box.
