jack lift for 550i with M-sport
I have been eye balling the jack lift over at costco. Those of you who have M-Sport version with 19" rims what do you use for your E60? I need a low profile jack and the one they currently sell is Arcan HJ2500. I don't think I will be able to lift the front of the car with this jack. Just found the specs for it.

i use this 3 ton low profile jack from harbor freight. and its on sale now for 79, which is a great price.
it will slide underneath the front to the factory lift pad.
3 ton Low Profile Steel Heavy Duty Floor Jack with Rapid Pump®
Harbor Freight Tools ? Quality Tools at Discount Prices Since 1977
when comparing the specs to the one you linked, that one appears to be 1.65" taller. i'm not sure it will slide underneath the bumper.

How long have you had it for? Did you get the extended warranty?

i've had the jack for at least 3 years i think.
i never buy extended warranties. lol. and its not like the jack costs much, to worry about it. if it breaks, buy another.

To have a better access to front I put 2x4 pieces under front tires and then slide the jack lift.
Harbor Fraight laluminum is really good and it is cheap.

thanks for the advice guys. What do you use for the jack stands? Are there any that fit inside the plastic housing without modification?

I use that same HF jack, its great and the entire jacking pad fits on the jack surface so you don't damage it. I also drive up onto 2x10s of wood to make it easier to place the jack and so when I place the stands, the car isn't at very steep angle.

There are specialty jack stands available that fit inside the plastic buffers, but they are not cheap. I trimmed the saddle of one regular jack stand with a hack saw, but gave up on doing a second one. A lot of sawing! Maybe one of these days I will give it another shot?
