The same happens in Hong Kong too. It used to be every man and his neighbour own a E46 3 series, but nowadays, I see more E60s than E90. And I think for the first time in Hong Kong, there are more 5-series than the MB E-Class on the road.
I think that not true, HK will alway be a MB, all old guy love the MB. I will not get 1  cos I`m 100% BMW lover.
I have been seeing more e60 in HK the past few months.
Let there me more

More 5 series here as well. Mostly 525s and 530xi. A couple of M5s going to work in the morning - but driven like they're 525s!. The only time I saw a M5 driven like an M5 was at the dealership - I think it was one of techs took it out for "road test"! 550s/545s are rare, especially with M Sport.

A ton of those in North Atlanta too. Plenty of 525i and 530i (Even at work now). A couple of M5 in the area, one blue and the other one black (Saw it like a bat out of hell the other day)

Have you also noticed how many of those are driven by woman? Plenty around here.

For those that did, or those that do not know better, the knock that the average car buyer always had on BMW's was that they handled poorly in the snow, being that they are rear wheel drive cars. Women especially felt that way about them and refrained from buying them, or even held their husbands back from getting one because of the poor reputation, right or wrong, that they had in slippery weather. Then BMW came out with the x drive in SUV's, 3's and now in the 5 series. Now BMW has it all, looks, great handling, good resale value, great warranty and maintance coverage and 4 wheel drive. No reason not to own one and it seems every one now wants an X type BMW. 1 out of 2 new 5's I see in the northeast USA seems to have an X designation.
I was told the factory was backed up in production of 5x's for quite a while, being they are so hot.
Well, add the X to the mix and now the car has become very common. TO BAD. I liked it better when they were few and far between.
Anyway as far as I am concerned, I'll take the sport suspension anytime for handling, and come winter, on go 4 snows and I never had a problem.

PS-- What became of all those Bangle bashers?

I think most people that buy supercar or very fast car don`t drive them too hard on the road, itis call safety.
Unless you are a boy racer or like to street race at 12am , then the arvige people will not us all the hp.

I live in a very small town (population less than 10k) in Mississippi, and I have been very suprised at the number of E60's that started showing up after they were released. My mother even leased herself an '07 525i back in December and she absolutely loves it-and I do too!

I have a used dealer license (me and a friend do this has a hobby of sorts), so I get to see the how many of the '04 models are now coming thru auctions after the lease term is up. There are a TON of them available all over-it is amazing to see how many have been leased/purchased. And you wouldn't believe the prices they are bringing-'04 525 and 530i's in good condition with 40-60k miles can be bought for $24-28k. In fact, my friend just purchased a '04 545i, 6 speed manual, 65k miles, sport pkg, premium pkg, logic 7, cold weather pkg, etc-everything but navigation for under $29k. Sure, it has a few scratches here and there, but a totally clean Carfax and is still very nice overall.

And that brings up another point-the 545i's are only bringing about $3k more than a 525 or 530 on average-for a car that was a lot more when new.
