First off, a big to this Forum!
It's been a great help with putting my order together and also provides a really good mix of facts, experiences and banter.
Having now had a couple of E46 320d's, it was time for a change. Even though the 330d was very tempting (boy is that car quick!), after a few long E60 and E90 test drives it had to be an E60. Seeing as I now do 60000+km a year, 80% on the German autobahns, it was a bit of a no-brainer really. The 5 series was so much quieter and more relaxing to drive than the 3 series, especially with my heavy right foot It is a different class after all and I'm no doubt stating the obvious in this forum!
Due to company car policy limitations, a 6-cylinder E60 was out of the question (damned fuel prices ) unless I went for a totally standard car - but I need my toys The performance of the 520d really was a pleasant surprise and is ideal for both normal and high speed cruising, especially on the busy motorways I spend most of my time on.
So here it is, my future pride and joy, which I ordered today...
520d manual
M Sport Package
18" M135s with RFT's
Carbon-Black
Black Dakota Leather
Riegel Ahorn Anthracite wood trim
Electric sunroof
Bus NAVI & cd changer
Logic 7 hifi
Bluetooth Prep for Motorola V3
Xenons
Adapative Headlights
Mirror package
Automatic Air Con - Advanced
Heated Front & Rear Seats
Drink holders
Split rear seats
PDC
Light package
In 6-8 weeks I should be taking delivery, just in time for some summer cruisin'...
Thanks again.
Cheers

Congrats on your choice, some nice options.
I'm also going through the pain of the 6-8 week wait for my new ride (see signature) . I'm sure it'll be worth it for both of us.

This is going to be a tough week for me..
The main difference between us is that you'll be cruising windows down listing to the V8 and I'll be windows down listing to the LOGIC7
Thanks to all others for the replies. I'm clearly not the only one out there wishing they would provide a next day delivery service!
Only 5 1/2 - 7 1/2 weeks to go...
