I have a 2004 530i with NAV Pro that had a CD Changer. I had the BMW iPod interface put in about four years ago. About a year ago, I installed a GW500. When using it with an 80GB iPod with about 75GB on it, everything works fine. If I use a 160GB iPod with about 90GB on it, it doesn't get recognized half the time by the Dension unit. The Dension unit has the most up-to-date software, so I thought the problem might be with the BMW Progman. That hasn't been updated since 2007.

The car is currently at the dealer getting a Progman update, but they are telling me that there is no software update for the the BMW iPod interface. It's hard for me to believe that there hasn't been an update in four years. Does anyone know if the iPod update is part of the overall Progman update or is it separate? Does anyone know for sure that there has been an update for it in the last four years? I'm also wondering if BMW has any software in their Progman that supports Dension and if so, what position does the Dension switch have to be in during a Progman update? I turned it off as stated in the instructions for the Progman update, but I'm wondering if it should have been on.

I'm also wondering if anyone else has seen this problem with the GW500 and a 160GB iPod and if there is a solution.

Nope there is no updates for the Ipod interface, quite a few modules never got updated. My DAB radio module is still on the same software it came out of the factory with.
