I have a 2004 E60 with BMW Ipod interface retrofit which worked perfect with my 60GB Ipod Video. I've recently witched to the Ipod Classic 160GB and noticed that I-Drive can only display 29 playlists, what happen to the 500 limitation? Is there a fix for this? Thanks so much guys.

My Ride: 535ixT On Order: 2010 E61, Ordered 1/05, Est. Birth 3/09, Est. Delivery 4/09, Carbon Black, Cream Beige Dakota Leather, Steptronic, M-Sport Pkg., Type 135 18
Model Year: 2010
I tried an iPod 160GB last year and had a similar problem. In Oct '08 my SA had my 530xiT's system flashed with the latest software - yet the iPod160 still had the limitation you spoke of.
Back to Costco it went, as I thought that my iPod had a fault.
I ordered a new iPod 120GB from Apple and have been able to access too many playlists to count - until the cars self-sacrifice 12/31/08.
Could there be problem with the iPod 160 design?
You might consider scanning Apple's iPod forum to see it if others have similar problems.

You may have to stick with the older iPod.
If others have an iPod Classic 160 GB running on the retrofit iPod kit, please chime in.
N.b. when I got my Classic 160, I ran into several compatibilities with the newer 6FL iPod option. These puzzled BMW but a new Y cable fixed the problem (I have an extra, brand new latest generation Y cable in case anyone needs one).

no I don't have them I guess, I thought the cable that I use to connect my ipod to my car is the Y cable but it's not then. I was thinking about update Progman may do something for me but if you said it wouldn't then maybe not then. So the only solution is to go back to my older 60GB video, I really want more space that's why I got the Classic 160, but man did I make a mistake. Thanks for your help.
