I have just noticed that at night when I unlock the car the interior courtesy lighting does not come on.

I can't find anything on the iDrive menus or indeed in the manual. Any ideas?

Do they come on when you open the doors?

I know for the '04 to activate/deactivate the courtesy lights, press and hold the middle light button (that turns on/off the courtesy lights manually, located on the roof between the reading lights and next to sun roof control) for 3 seconds. That activates/deactivates it for me.

Are you using the same key fob? They may be programmed differently...?

Yep same key fob. Strangely having fixed a date for it to be checked, it seems to work OK now. There seem to be a number of things happening at the moment. I've lost phone pairing today and can't restore it. I always leave the entertainment on aux input and most of the time it stays on that setting. Sometimes, however, it switches itself back to radio. gremlins!
