Not sure if you recall but in the E39 era, there was a two-tone interior color scheme known as: Stone Green/Black.

My 2001 530i has an exterior color of Topaz Blue and the above interior color scheme. I had to twist my dealer's arm to order my car that way as it was not "officially" sanctioned by BMWNA.

However, I later came to find out that a dealer can order any exterior color with any interior color EASILY as long as both are available in the US market (this is for US cars as far as I know..may or may not apply elsewhere).

So if you want that Auburn interior with an exterior color and the BMWUSA website says it can't be done, don't worry...it CAN be done. Your dealer just needs the balls or confidence to order it knowing full well you will buy the car when it shows up. That is the only tricky part I believe. See my post a couple posts above about why BMW Individual is tough to get here in the US.

I have black custom made Nappa leather in a Titanium Silver car.
Please note the white sewings.

Its all about the contrast.

Sorry about the shitty cellphone pic.

I would agree - that light poplar/black combo is really sweet -
I wanted black but in the States we only get the dark poplar and the wood disappears rather than stands out -

I still think dark poplar looks awesome. When I first test drove an E60 it had that combination and I loved it. I opted for light pop because it was different.

The anthracite headlining looks great with black interior too.

I love the Auburn color as well and I will have to force BMW to get me a Titanium Silver 550i with Auburn leather interior. I especially like the contrast between the Auburn, light poplar and the black trim on the door (above picture). I saw a 330i at the dalership yesterday that looked gorgeous. It was blue outside though.

The Titanium Silver "only" comes with Black or light Gray interiors as a matter of course, but here, ordering it from Pentagon Car Sales in Germany, you can order any color combo you want. I really do not want the black interior since there's no contrast as in the picture above, and I agree with the light gray color thought - hard to keep clean.

Anyone out there thinks the Auburn inside/titanium gray outside would look bad? Has anyone seen that combo? The best in/out combo I've seen is the BMW Individual Carbon Black, with the Caramel colored interior

I find a black interior can be too dark and oppressive in daylight, especially in the M Sport with a black headlining. But when you're in the right mood for it - at night - it's great.

That's why my last 5er was Orient Blue with grey leather to lighten the interior a little. But it does need to be kept clean. It's all too easy to let it slide into grubbiness and dirt gets ground in over the course of 100,000 miles.

Solved the grubbiness problem this time around with Black Leather, get the style with the black headlining - and have a sunroof for clear days!
