Interesting stuff on ABI (UK) Website (LCI E60)
Some of the new 2007 models have appeared on the ABI (Association British Insurers) website: ABI
Interestingly they've messed up the PS to HP thing! So the 535d is listed at 282hp instead of 286hp. They've taken the HP figures, i.e. 286 and converted from PS to HP giving 282. (286 x 0.986) I thought all BMW figures where HP not PS? 535d also listed as manual 'box!!!
Someone's had a bad day...
535d group 18 (282hp, 286hp really)
525d group 17 (194hp,197hp really)
530i group 18 (268hp, 272hp really)
523i group 17 (188hp, 190hp really)
Just to annoy 520d owners the 'new' 120d is listed at 174hp (177hp really) E61 M5 listed as well
Also, 3-series coupe/cabriolet 'M Sport' listed... I also note a new 1-50 rating rather than the traditional 1-20... (I remember the 1-7 scheme!)

Good data - is there a comparison of legacy insurance groups?

So a search of 535 'diesel' bmw reveals:
535d (272) from 2007 is group 18/20 or 45/50
535d (282 sic) from 2004 to 2005/7 is group 18/20 or 46/50 (potential for small insurance hike)
