My Ride: I GOT A 2007 TITANIUM GRAY/AUBURN LEATHER 545I 6SPD MANUAL. COLD WEATHER PACKAE, PREMIUM, PREMIUM SOUND LOGIC 7, SPORT.
Default

I just drove the 2005 545i and i have noticed that once the seat belt chime is gone IT IS GONE FOR GOOD. it will not come back on, when you make a full stop like in the previous version 5's. I guess thats the Version 15.2 software.
Did anyone notice that or have that happened to them in their new Version software?

do yourself a favour and Use the Seatbelt.......

Well said DD. I know of some drivers who purchase dummy buckles just to keep the chime away. They might as well drive a car that's not as advanced.

Yes indeed....if you don't wear a belt, why not go the whole way and fill the airbag well with nails/glass etc (leaving the explosive charge)

some folk?????....not safe to be let out alone! ::-):

I'm not saying I'm not going to wear my seatbelt, BUT I feel like a baby when a car has to tell me what to do/not do etc.

To me, if they're going to impose this, why not also have the chime go of when you go over 70mph? Or how about, a chime for going over the posted speed limit (this would be easy to implement on NAV cars)?

BETTER YET....> Have the car chime at every freeking STOP LIGHT TO MAKE SURE WE DO A COMPLETE STOP!! WHERE WILL IT END!!!

That seems to me to be a bit of a redundant argument. The car's safety systems are built around the assumption that occupants wear seatbelts and will only function correctly if occupants are restrained in the event of a collision. And whilst driving at 70 or higher is not, in itself, at all unsafe, driving unrestrained in your car at any speed can be. I do understand the "nanny state" arguments, but the car just won't be as safe as it should be if people don't belt up.

With CIP 16 software, the chime goes on for about a minute before going off until the next time you start the car.
