Default Intake Manifold DISA Valve's Flapper Broken

In my 525I E60 N52 Engine 2005 while I was in process of changing the CCV (Crank Case Ventilator) Breather valve, I went extra miles by intending to clean the oil inside the Intake Manifold. I came to shock when I realised the Intake Manifold Disa Valve's flapper was broken lying around inside the Intake Manifold. The flapper holding pin is missing, should I worry that maybe it went to the engine?
Now I saw on internet that there is a repair kit where i can buy a flapper separate, my question is how do I test that the electronic part of this Disa is still functioning accordingly?
There are two DISA Valve in these N52 engines the big one and the small one. The small DISA Vavle is still intact, what I want know can I move the flapper by hand or it can only be moved/stroked by only elecronic, because the M54 engine's DISA can be swivel by hand?
I will appreciate your experienced views

This seems to be a fairly common issue on N53, N53 engines and so on. The fact that you can't open it by hand is because inside, there's a screw that connects to a gear. Whilst the motor can move the gear, the gear cannot move the screw, so I wouldn't force it. Don't know about the connection of the DISA valve, but there's a chance that you can apply some current to it to test it's movement, but I wouldnt try it.

As for the broken valve, you have 2 options: buying a new one or rebuilding that one. I think the 2nd one is a great option and there are kits available to do so, with instructions on it's webpage to dissasemble, fix and reassemble.

They are kind of expensive but the stem is made of steel and will probably outlast many other components in the engine. Also, it's cheaper than buying a new one.
