Hi folks,

Just spent the last hour playing with the new car. So far I love everything about it with the notable exception of I-Drive. Yes, this topic has most certainly been beatin to death, but the fact remains it's a royal pain in the a@#. Anyone know of an on-line tutorial?

That being said, I refuse to let I-Drive ruin my fun and enthusiasm for the car. I only put 20 miles on it, but plan a proper drive tomorrow to really get a feel for it!

WTF (sorry first reaction, no offense), the iDrive doesn't need an online tutorial men. I think the system is pretty simple all you need is a few days to understand the rationale behind it. But I drive an hour or so each day so maybe you will learn the system by tommorrow.

Trust me the OSI model makes far more sense to me than I-Drive. So does Boolean logic for that matter.

I-Drive reminds me of Cisco's IOS. Which is not a compliment!

Seriously, I'm sure I just need to play around with it for more than the hour I did tonight.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!! You're a Cisco Cert and could not figure out iDrive? Man, I'm speechless. If you were in Houston, I'll trade a couple Cisco hours for my iDrive tutoring. You're worst than my wife and she's in the medical field.

When my wife first got in the 530 she loved i-drive. She figured it out so fast I thought she was on speed.
However she thought the cupholders were weapons of mass destruction.
She's a former marketing researcher, and education evaluator. Her first BMW was in 1978.

With I-Drive, just relax, don't force it -- Let it come to you.

I've been driving my 530xi now for about a week--LOVE THE iDRIVE!!!

Every single imaginable command is at your fingertip, you don't even need to move your right arm much. I can't understand all the criticism--I think it stems mainly from people who haven't gotten used to it.

Give it some time, it will become second nature and you'll wonder how you ever drove without it!
