On Thursday i will take my car (520i -2/2005) for a retrofit installation of a CD-Changer promised by the dealer. Anyone can help with information about :

what brand is the cd-changer (afraid of a cheap one installed instead!!)
Is it compatible with the existing Business System?
what to expect and what to look for ?
Does the CD Changer play MP3?
Do i get CIP upgrading as well?
How to find out what version of CIP do i have?

I got a cd changer installed by the dealer last month. I got it installed in the glove box. The part number is 65126938975 (http://www.e60.net/information/5_Ser...es_Catalog.pdf check page 23)
My changer does not play mp3s.
I already had a software upgrade so not sure if you would get one with the cd changer or not (but if you want a software upgrade, you can make up an excuse :-) )
My cd changer integrates with idrive.

I recently had to replace my cdchanger due to a fault - and the car had to be re-coded. So yes it wil get the latest CIP when you add to replace a CD Changer.
