Hi all,

I'm due to take delivery of my new E60 535d M Sport in May. I've secified the BMW Individual Audio System, and was wondering if anybody has it in theirs, or has heard the system?

I've read various reports about it (Although not that much detailed info about it around), and it seems to have had a very positive response regarding the quality.

So ,would love to hear from anyone who has it installed, because quite frankly, I can't wait to hear it

My E60 is due in under a week with the Individual Audio, I'll report back in once I've given it a workout. I have Logic 7 in my current E92 so will be interesting to see how it compares.

That would be good to hear your feedback.

My E61 at the moment has the HI-Fi system, which is pretty good, and I've heard a logic7 system in a Range Rover, which was Very good.

By all accounts the Individual System is exceptional Lets hope they are right, cos its a lot more cash than the Logic7 system

Logic7, 13 Speakers, 420W, I think, 4 channel amp, standard speakers.

Individual Audio System: 16 High Performance speakers with Neodymium magnetic drives, with extremely stiff Hexacone membranes.
9 Channel 825W amp with DSP.
DIRAC Live signal processing (which is the clever and very technical bit!)

And cool looking silver grilled speakers

Hope this helps your understanding the difference.

Not cheap, ?1,495 UK pounds as an option. Nearly twice the price as Logic7 So long as it's twice the quality.....

Right, I've now had 24 hours to play with the Individual Audio, though I think I still need to do some fine tuning with the equaliser. I gave the Logic 7 in my E92 a good workout just before changing cars so as to compare. I've tested so far with DAB radio, which was ok but couldn't tell a huge difference between DAB and FM. However I ripped a few CD's to USB memory stick using Lossless WMA and the sound quality is simply amazing, very crisp and clear with incredibly tight midrange. You can instantly tell there is a big difference between IA and L7, don't know if you can say it is twice as good as these things are very subjective and L7 is pretty damn good as it is but the IA is definitely worth the extra.

It's also my first time with the 6FL USB option and this has to be the best value option on the car, worked straight from the off, listed and sorted all tracks, sound quality is fantastic using lossless, which does work. The manual says anything over 256K/bs may not but it works with Lossless VBR at over 1000K/bs. Very impressed, can't see myself ever using that CD changer.

As an aside, boy is that Stop/Go Cruise Control scary for the first time when you trust it to bring you to a stop when it's accelerating towards stationary traffic, worked though but's it's going to take some getting used to.
