Since my Mini Schnauzer loves taking rides and it was such a beautiful day, a short ride was in order. From a prior "Tire Pressure" posting I thought I could check the ride with the slightly lower pressure. Smooth... Then I started thinking to myself at what mileage should I start to take it easy and not fully take advantage of my 550's power. Since this is my first BMW I have no idea what the golden age is, but until then, I'll keep up with the maintenance, etc. A friend of mine has an older 540 with close to 200k on it. I've had domestic cars in the past and at 55k I was already looking to get out of them.
As I drove back home I decided to take a pic with my BB. Even if it's dirty, lol. Man, I love the lines and the stretched look of the E60. To me, it looks meaner than the F10. Until I see a F10 with a M kit, the E60 is for me.

i think the key to long engine life is to keep up on the maintenance, and dont drive the car hard until the engine is fully warmed up. other than that, i wouldnt be afraid to stomp on it even if it has over 100k.
remember, the two worst things that can happen to an engine is lack of lubrication(due to dirty or cold oil), and over-heating.

Sounds good to me. I'm always on top of maintenance. Every time I tell people my car is an 06 they call me a liar - lol.

Yeah, I keep my inside and out immaculate. I've always done that for all my cars. Friends ask if it's okay to eat inside her - my reply is wait until we get home.
