Hi everyone,

Well, I picked up my new 2006 530xi last week and just posted photos today. It was cloudy, so the photos don't do the car justice, but I wanted to take advantage of the fact that I just washed it!

I love this car- it's very different from my 2000 528i. More power, a more stable feel, and lots more gadgets I've mastered iDrive as well- it's not bad at all. My only "complaint" is that they seem to have done away with the dipstick. On my 528i, I used to suction out the oil from the dipstick when doing my own oil changes. Anyone figure out if DIY oil changes are possible with this car?

Thanks to all those who gave me advice over the past few months!

Nice car. Check the Technical Gallery for documents on oil changes. Sorry but I'm not 100% sure if the instructions for the 530 are for the new or old version...

Very nice, and I love the style 124 rims.

Did they give you credit on the standard rims?

Thanks everyone! LowOrbit, they wouldn't give me credit on the other wheels, so now I have 4 extras. I'm storing the original rims and tires (style 138, 17", already mounted with original all reasons radials) for now. Might sell them, or use the rims for snows if needed...
