It has been a while since I posted but have popped in briefly from time to time for a quick snoop around. Can't quite break the habit.
My dad was in hospital from February undergoing chemotherepy. Unfortunately he didn't make it through the course of treatment and sadly passed away in June. It has been somewhat of a shock to the system because he was quite strong other than the effects of the treatment. Thats why I haven't been browsing the forum much.
Since then I just got it in to my head to change the car as I had partly bought it for him to drive as well. I think he only got to drive it twice since I got it 13 months ago.
An opportunity came by recently for a sale and a deal was struck. So bar some un-forseen circumstance, I'll be without from Monday. :'(
At this stage I'm not sure what I'll do. I was thinking of an E92 at the September launch. Although I've test driven an E90 325i, I'll have to say after the 523i, it was fairly disappointing. The E90 was no-where near as refined as the E60 regarding engine and gearbox noise/whining,
those fu^&?"!g run-flat tyres
and the (too) stiff standard suspension.
Thats sort of putting me off the E92 although I'm expecting it to drive way better than the E90.
My beemers, like the passengers on the ark, have been coming in two's - I've had two E46's and two E60's so I don't know if history will repeat itself with two E92's. However, I'll look at the E92 in September and make a decision then. If I don't like it what then? Might consider another E60 but then there's a facelift due sometime in early 2007.
Could this be my last BMW? Don't know how long I can last without something reasonable under my bum so if the E92 doesn't impress and no E60 till after the wash and brush-up in (possibly second quarter of) 2007, it might be too long to wait.
I'll feel like an outsider posting to the E60 forum when I won't have an e60 to back up my membership. Maybe someone from here will start up an E92 forum modelled on E60.net and everyone here can become honorary members so I won't feel like a pretender.
Decisions. Decisions, So same bat time, Same bat channel.

Sorry for your loss IrishEyes. My sister also didn't make it through her last course of chemotherapy so I know how tough it is for everyone. But at the end of the day this forum is going to be poorer without your posts and (in particular) your jokes and you'll be missed. E60 ownership certainly isn't a prerequisite so hope you stick around - but whatever you decide to do or drive next you should be sure to stop by from time to time.

I'm sorry to hear your loss. I hope that the healing process from this will be swift.
Regarding the e92, I hope it meets your requirements! I hope you stick around, I love reading the jokes you put in the Lounge.
Best of luck IrishEyes

I don't reali know you, but i'm sorry for your loss. Its hard to lose a family member but time will heal. Hope its shorter than longer. I'm sure an e60 would not be a requirement for this board. Just keep posting, maybe it'll keep your mind off of things. Stick around... Again sorry for your loss.
