So I am thinking about debadging as they say-I used to hate it but the look really grew on me especially on a shiny clean black car-but I am on lease and I am sure its not the end of the world if I turn it in without the numbers but I would like to slap them back on to turn it in-would this be hard to do.

^^^What he said.

It's easy to do!

And you can put others on too...
Put a 520 badge on a 550 and have fun...

Instead of ordering new badges you can just remove the old tape and by new stuff from a auto parts store. You will have to do some trimming but it is not difficult to do. It is the same double sided tape which is used for a bunch of other "stick on" mods

Isn't debadge a no cost option from the factory? Just say you ordered debadge when you are returning the car.

Ya thanks guys-I just called the parts store and it is 29.95 for bucks for a new badge-since i have another 1.5 years I will keep it to the end. I am not very craftsy so pasting on my old ones would surely be a mess.

But on an offnote-car looks AWESOME with the badge gone. The talk about it looking so much cleaner is sure true. I was not sold on this idea but I have seen a couple really clean nice black and white e60s with no badge and they looked very sharp. Not sure how that little silver badge makes such a difference but I love the look.

Feels faster now too haha jk jk And by the way-simply used dental floss and it took 5 minutes. Then used a bit of goo-be-gone and then wiped with a warm microfiber cloth and polished it dry with a dry one. Did not even wax or use a clay bar or anything like I have read and it looks perfect-VERY easy to do.

if youre still thinking about putting badges back on, to re-badge just buy 3M double sided stick mounting tape and use a pen knife. for sure its cheaper than buying new badges and it doesnt take a skilled arts and crafts person to do. dont worry im not very skilled in that department either but hey, make it a "little project" if you still want to do it in the future.

I debadge all my bimmers. I returned my E39 530 debadged and it wasn't even an issue. So don't worry about putting it back on, but if you do, throw a 1 series badge up there instead. LOL!

hahathat is funny-I should order some totally wack badge like a 1 series or some random badge and slap it on and just totally throw people for a loop. I already am getting those-"what kinda car is that" stares. I like the mystery behind the debadge but more so I just love the clean lines now from the back-looks soo much better-especially on a black or white car it seems but any car would be a big improvement.

Thanks for the 3M tip as well-will keep it in mind if my dealer haggles me down the line since I will just turn it in unbadged since you guys have in the past.

Thanks!
