1) Slight angle to the center stack with the dials/screen. Create a bit more of a cockpit feel like the last gen 5ers.

Word! ? This is what made the E46 and E39 so great.? You felt like you were in a cockpit.?

2) Better spread on the engine power between the 525, 530, 550 and M5. Maybe something like 250hp, 300 hp, 390 hp, then 500hp.

Well, the M5 has got around 500 ponies, right??

3) Touchscreen capability instead of solely iDrive

Yup.?

Seems that red calipers would make a very popular choice. I'm sure there must be a reason for that, but I really don't see the point. Why red calipers?

Very nice. Now you just need some cross-drilled rotors.

Red calipers add a nice unobtrusive accent to a car's wheels/tires. They look sporty/racy. They look great in general and on the wheel pictured above. But, they are not for us stealthsters or those of us who see, for example, the 545i as a fast, but refined, crusier. My Z06 has red calipers; they really seem to suit that car. On, say, a 545i, I think red calipers become more and more appropriate as the car is modified more and more to the racy side.

again, this is a BMW NA issue...the E60 does have a pretty good line up of power...

From the 525i to the M5 we have 525i = 215hp, 530i=255, 540i=306, 550i=360, & M5=500

... the problem once again, thanks to BMW NA is that we are missing the 540i which fills the gap nicely

...our friends overseas are lucky yet again

We lucky? We don't have a 550 over here yet and don't even know when it will come. The one model that we get that you guys don't have is a 523i=170hp. But given the traffic condition here, 523 works great

Well now that I've seen what they look like, they do add something. In the same way as adding bright red lipstick to the Mona Lisa would - gaudy, tasteless and totally pointless. Thank goodness they are not compulsory! IMHO
