Hey guys. I just bought a 04 545 and it is still under warranty until next year.
I just scheduled a appt to get some upgrades to my iDrive system - they are:
1. Bluetooth retrofit
2. MP3 Retrofit
3. Upgrade to program 25.04 or the latest.
These will be covered under warrant, right?
I also just got a 2006.2 Nav disk which doesnt work - does iDrive have to re-programmed for this to work?
I also need my fog lights aimed - this covered under warranty, as well?
Thanks for any insight guyys!

The BT and MP3 retrofits are not likely to be covered under warranty. What you need to do take a look here:
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=422635 and see if you can find an issue that you have that was fixed in a new software version (Progman version).
Complain about that issue to the dealer and they'll be forced to upgrade the software under warranty to fix the problem. At that point, depending on how good the dealer is (and where you are -- please enter your location in your profile so we can tell what country you're in...) they should be able to do the BT and MP3 retrofit at no charge to you since they're already doing a software upgrade.
I see this is your first post here (welcome!) so I'd recommend reading a bit more about the BT and MP3 retrofits. Theere are service bulletins for both posted a bunch of times -- you may need to show them to the dealer because many of them are very uninformed about what can and can't be done to the cars based on build date, etc.
Do you happen to know your build date? You can find the month and year the car was built by looking at the black sticker on the driver's door jamb...

Thanks very much for the info - I'm in LA...car was made 2-2004.
I'm also very aware about complaining about the direction arrow not popping up on the small nav screen - that should justify a program update.
Will that suffice to also have the bluetooth and mp3 capabilities activated while its there?
Thanks for the guidance guys!

I don't think the directional arrow popup was a "bug" was it?
As far as Bluetooth, you may have to go the BTUM route because your TCU may not support BT natively. (3/2004 production was the beginning of the new TCU's that supported BT with only software.)
As I said, do some reading here -- and search for some of the terms I mentioned above...

What does BTUM mean? Can I still get that under warrany if they upgrade the software under warranty?
It is not a warranty item.
I don't mean to sound unhelpful but did you search the forums yet?
