iDrive Update - Better Gear Shifting
#1
I recently had the CD 6-disc changer replaced by the iPod module. The iPod system works great; however, I have noticed a considerable improvement in how the gears shift. I notice a difference at all driving speeds. The dealer stated that the iDrive system required an update. Although I haven't seen any changes in the screen, there is something tuned differently.
Did the latest iDrive update address any performance settings?

I believe that updates are really complete updates and not just patches, and yes, the later versions of the software included fixes to harsh shifting. Enjoy your new iPod interface and the smoother shifts.

Do the stealership charge for these updates if so what are the going rates
i think programming on ipod dock is not complete one and it does not affect transmission programming... because when i did ipod install, it took them like 2 hr to do programming but for the whole car it takes like 5-6 hr...
price.... it depends on how much hr labor is on each bmw..
