Hi all! Just recently bought my first BMW, a 2005 530i with nav and single CD, and so far, I'm amazed with it. I'm glad to find this forum, and I've been reading and reading.

The one thing I haven't found here is a list of iDrive versions and what is included in the updates. I just tried an MP3 disk in mine, but no worky. I read somewhere that v20 included the MP3, v23 ipod update, etc, but I'm not sure what to ask for when I go for an update. Can anyone point me to an iDrive version history?

BTW: I HAVE seen a table showing date / model / PROGMAN / Special remarks with codes through the 'hidden menu', but I was looking for a little more detail where there are no special remarks in this table on some versions.

Thanks. Maybe a better question would be 'If I wanted to upgrade my software to get MP3 functionality and maybe even Ipod or USB possibility with future hardware additions, which version would be best?'
