Anybody else notice what appear to be "scan lans" on their screen after the car has been sitting in the sun for a few hours? It's not like dead pixels or anything like that. It's sort of like looking at an image that has been run through a line doubler, i.e. a 480i image "up converted" to 480p or 480p to 1080i. A/V folks should know what I mean; assuming there are some hardcore A/V folks here.

We've had a long run of 90+ degree days and in the sun my dark blue e60 certainly heats up to 120+ ... I've not seen any iDrive display problems, dead pixels, distorted images, etc in mine. Is it noticeable in all screen shots (NAV, INFO, etc)?.

I'm in SoCal too, and I've had NO issues either! Perhaps a trip to the dealer is in order?? Good Luck!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with these lines. They appear on the top, center of my screen, and oddly enough, appear to become more visible at higher speeds. When it was 100+F out recently, they were more noticeable than ever so there is definitely a correlation with the ambient temperature. I haven't brought this to the attention of my SA as I thought he would think I'm being too anal. Let me know if you get it looked at please. Out of curiosity, what was your build date? Mine was 03/08.

My issue isn't as bad as yours. I doubt I'll take it to the dealer. It only happens when I first start the car after it's been roasting for a few hours and goes away in less than a minute. I'd actually be willing to bet that it's happening to everybody but they just don't notice it. If I didn't look at the screen whenever I start the car, I wouldn't notice it either since it goes away so quickly.

I don't worry about it since I figure it's just the screen reaching its upper operating temperature. Or it could just be my Revo Ps; then again, if that were the case it would exhibit that behavior full time. Or there could be a slight aberation and the Revos are exacerbating it. some more...
