My Ride: 2006 525Xi, premium package, premium sound, steptronic, bi-xenon adaptive lights, PDC, rear sun shade, rear heating, cold weather package.
Default

Hi everyone,

I have just placed an order for a 2006 525Xi this week, and
I have a quick question regarding the language support.

Does the US spec iDrive support Chinese (Traditional)?

I have a lot MP3s with Chinese song name, and I would like
to have them displayed through the LCD screen.

Nothing major, but it would be nice to have.

Thanks.

Does the 2006 E60 Support the MP3 now? I doubt the U.S version car will support the chinese unless you brought your car from oversea.

I c.,

I don't know about the 2006 MP3 support, maybe it is not. I won't be able to tell until July. When I test drove the 545i, the CD text show random characters for my CDs, so I am wondering if the CD text support/MP3 song will display properly, if I ask them to load the Chinese support into iDrive.

Anyway, nothing major... , I can live without it.

Alohalc,

Thank you for the information. My friend has an E60 in Taiwan, it has the Chinese support, and I saw that . I am in the US (Maryland, near DC), so I don't know if BMW is willing to load the Chinese and English, rather then English and German, for the US Spec iDrive. I special ordered my car due to the options I wanted. It is a 2006 525Xi, with the production scheduled for the week 22. Week of May 30th.

Thank you.

I know, but they suppose to load that for the HK, Singapore, Taiwan, and China
market, both Chinese Traditional, and Chinese Simplified. But I am in the US, and I listen to a lot Chinese pop songs, like most Chinese that came from Taiwan. Let's say that if BMW extend the iPod interface that will work iDrive on the E60, I am expecting a full control of the iPod, even the song list.. then I will have more problem . <_<

I called my sales today, and he is going to find it out, and let me know by Monday.
If it is too much trouble.. well, I think is ok, I am going to just stick with
English. I will change the song title into English. ....

And also the 2006 should come with voice command right ? I did not order Nav with my 525Xi. I am going to buy a portable GPS.
