Another problem I have is when I am in the startup screen I use the I-Drive controller to the right and navigation will not start. Sometimes I have to do it 10 or 15 times before it goes to the rightside and navigation will start. All other options like entertaiiment and communication will work normal. First I thought the I-Drive knob was faulty and it just wouldn't work pushing it to the right. But in all the other screens going to the right is no problem.
I have this too. Looks like we are waiting on the next version of software again.

Sometimes I get a phonecall in the car and want to go to the mapscreen back again because I hardly listen to the lady talking to me (I rather listen to the music). So I hope BMW gets a solution quickly because this is the only thing that anoyes me very much about the car.

When you are making a call you can go back to the map screen, even while you're talking on the phone. Just move the idrive controller to the right and hold it there for two seconds and then let it go - you don't even need to look at it while doing it...

This is the solution to another thread of mine.. The manual doesn't say anything about this. It only tells stuff about the bussnav.

Does this also work when you are at the mainmenu. I always have the mapscreen on in my car even when navigation is not neccesary.

Have not tried it from the main menu...
But this is really cool because you get the map immediately, or whatever screen you've been watching to when the call came in...

Do you have other shortcut tips maybe?? I'm hanging on your lips to find out more (this is a dutch expression translated so don't take it personally)

I think that's the only shortcut...
Works in all 4 directions, but not for the i-menu.
When you are in a menu, for example the nav menu, then you can push and hold the controller to the right (like you would like to switch to the nav menu) and yo uwill get the main screen... But that's waaaaaaaaaaaay easier by pressing the menu button...

I have found another shortcut since I have no Voicerecognition.. I've teached my wife how to use the I-Drive and tell her what I need on the screen.. She has a lot of fun playing around with the knob...hehehehe

I also like to have the map in view even when not using nav to go to a destination. When I start the car, I just push the puck to the right for about 2 seconds and it goes to the map. It seems like it goes to whatever screen you used last within Nav (proNav), I like the Map showing there.

Just curious, but do most of you who use Nav prefer the 'map facing north' to the 'map, direction of travel'?
