I dunno if you put the semi permanent plates up why not just drill holes?

Here is my plate on my old bumper...

Are you saying you have the 550 MTech bumper??? If so, I use these

I bought larger washers to mount it to the back of the bottom grill. It's adjustable and doesn't even touch the bumper at all. I bought the remote controlled hideaway but I figured I would most likely have the plates visible anyway (2 incidents with parking enforcement) and I didn't want to cut the grill so these fit the bill.

BTW, it's easily removable with a hex driver in case you want to take it off some time.

For the license plate mounts that go into the tow hook on cars with PDC, wouldn't that get in the way of the sensors?

I bought one of these:
US Mill Works - BMW Front License Plate Brackets
like a month ago. Looks really classy, easy to install, and comes with literally all the parts you need and more (like a set of black and a set of steel screws so you can closer match your body color, and an alan wrench to install it).

The only thing I'd say is make sure you don't accidentally obscure one of the parking radar sensors on the bumper. Mine is right on the edge and constantly tries to give me minor heart attacks when in reverse.

Here's a pic from their site (this isn't my car):

I just bought the US Mill Works light edition (one pictured) and it was easy, looks and works great. Highly recommend. Texas has a front license place law but no fine until last week its now a $200 fine, so I think the tickets will start flying. I would rather spend $100 instead of $300 (ticket plus the cost of the frame)! Oh and they send SUPER fast. I got mine 3 days after I ordered it!
