That's an old screen shot from a very early version of the software.
You are correct that circle #1 deals with the a/c. The individual vent settings would display there if they were overidden off of automatic. I can't remember but I think they don't show up like that anymore (I always use automatic so I can't recall what happens.) I'm sure someone else will add further detail as to whether or not those still work on some cars.
You are correct that circle #2 is used when a new SMS is received but I think it only works with the hard-wired CPT9000 phone.
You are correct that circle #3 is a signal strength indicator for the phone. It works with many BT phones but there are some that don't. My Nokia 6230 does not show signal, only the first "antenna" picture (with no bars to the right of it.)

Can anyone tell me how do I get these icons on the screen.
Attachment 18858
1. Seems like AC settings.
2. Seems like SMS notification.
3. Seems like mobile signal.
I do have the advanced AC and BT mobile connected. Yet see none of those. For Point 2 and 3 which phones have people used to display them?

As Rudy suggested it's a screen shop of an early S/W version.
My 1/06 build 530 shows #3 - the signal strenght antenna for my Motarola 815 (its a CDMA phone - US only I think).

I have a March 05 model and I've never seen the A/c settings or SMS indicators.

I get the signal strength indicator with my Motorola Razr. I have never seen the AC setting icons and don't recall ever seeing the little letter icon

I only get the "antenna" icon with my Nokia 8890, however my fiance has a motorola and she gets the bars all the time. I think its because BMW uses a similar system with Verizon (which my fiance has) and is able to see the bars. Im not sure, but this is the impression Ive gotten from the service tech and some posts on here.
