My Ride: 2007 530i, Steptronic 6, Silver Gray, Black Dakota leather, Anthracite wood, Premium pkg, Sport pkg, Cold Weather pkg, Premium Sound, pro nav, Active Steering, Park Distance, folding rear seats.
I've finally made up my mind on interior and exterior options. Now I'm trying to decide if I should drop the Steptronic for the Comfort Access. I had a manual trans before I loved it except for when there was traffic to deal with. The cost to drop the steptronic would cover the cost of the comfort access.
What do you suggest and why?

I'd say do both if you can. But the way I weighed the options was to determine what I would use the most. Comfort access you would be using just on getting in and starting up your car. The auto trans you would be using all the time.

if u drop steptronic, you also loose the DS (Sport mode) correct? And i think u really really need sport mode. i use it very often to kick down when overtaking.

I dont know whats the conditions are like where you live, but I say its better than Bangladesh or India, so if you really have to choose between the two then pls take the comfort access, I dont have that option in my car and I really think its the way of the 21st century, I mean key less entry is so 90's.... About automatic/steptronic, I say if you really love cars and if you are also getting a turbo diesel, stick with the Manual 6 speed, you wont regret. There will be times in rush hour you will think GOD I NEED THE AUTO but hey look at the best part when you will be flying on the autobahn you will say THANK GOD I HAD MANUAL.....so rest is up to you....

If your budget is forcing a decision on something as serious as transmission, then I don't think you should be purchasing a BMW.
Get a Hyundai, instead.

come one you know they do add up a lot , plus if you do the math it costs a lot more than US to buy a vehicle in EU or anywhere else in the world...so hard choices we always have to make.....
