I love the iDrive too -- being an IT Pro, it seemed to just come naturally to me in a few mins.
And, I especially like how I can just rest my arm on the center console and the controller seems to fit just in the right spot.

Your earlier post makes no sense then:

You don?t really have the iPod interface designed for the e60. You have a kludge that is connected to the CD changer in the glovebox. Since you have a MY2008 car, most people here would presume you have the iPod option, which is very well executed (with the exception of podcast control).

I was lied to by thr $tealer. I was told it would be the same. I would have never bought the car, and I folded an extra $500 into the deal for this lameness. My experience is that the salespeople never really know that much about their products.

jmsod, you get into a 328 loaner from a 535 and the idrive is what you miss the most??? What about the difference in power? Thats got to be a blaring siren of a difference, no?
Well, I did not want to state the obvious. Of course, I missed the TT dearly. The 328 in D mode really is a slug. It is much better when using the tip stick to control the shifts.
That being said, I gave the 328 back today and I am back in my 535. I really love this car!!!! WOW

First off. I drive is NOT HARD TO USE!!!. How hard is it to change radio stations by turning a wheel instead of pushing a button.. besides my hand/arm is right there. I completely agree. I love the Idrive and I have a hard time driving a car without it.
