The one good thing about that color is that it is very rare comparing to other colors.

I love my car don't get me wrong but I'm just sooo upset I don't have the bi-xenons ... I got the car used and it didn't have that option ... it bums me out all the time, just for the fact that the BMW's lights just look so cool even when they are off.. I mean my last 2 cars had them and it wasn't a big deal they look just like normal lights but I love that whole big lens thing going... That is the one thing that I would change...
Isn't it plug and play? I understand the ballasts for the xenons are in the light units so there isn't a lot of messing around. Anyone done it?

Funny - we have same colour, same rims, we both switched to chrome grilles and I also bought my car used... except I'm 10k miles away :-). Oh - and I also switched the plate surrounds to my dealer's plates. "Bawaria Motors" in silver looks better than Daimler Chrysler Leasing in green...

Our colour rocks. You really need to see it live to appreciate it. One would never order it by just looking at the colour samples but in the flesh it's awesome going from grey to plum to cappucino depending on ambient lighting. IMHO it also really needs the chrome highlights to set it off.

Just today I was having a look at my client's car park and all the cars were silver, titanium and grey metallics. Amethyst grey is one of a kind

It's a very elegant colour, indeed, but, in my opinion, lacking the kind of sporty look I like to have. But you're probably right, we cannot judge it correctly without seeing live.

Hehe I'm sorry but I have to be honest about this one. It looks kind of , which is probably why you don't see many E60s with this color.

Not to mention it's probably not a good color for resale value.

But in the end, it's what you like that matters most.

Ya think so? Because every time I take my car in to BMW for reg. services I'm getting told by the people there how that is by far the best and rareist color of e60 and every time my car is there they get customers asking about the color... to each his own that is why there are so many flavors of ice cream right.... to be honest I always loved the e60 but when I saw this color I had to have it.. it might not look like a very sporty color but in person it looks like a very RICH and Sexy looking BMW..

Maybe it's not as easy as I thought:
