BMW 535d: 0-100 km/h 6.0 sec, 0-160 km/h 15.0 sec

Who would have belived this of a diesel about five years ago??

But I guess that we do not have to wait for long for a twinturbo gasoline engine from BMW!
Kinda optimistic figures. Not that i don't like it but what happened to the 0-100km/h in 6.5 sec mark from bmw?

Faster than a continental gt? WOW....i think i underestimated my car, although i smashed a few similar cars from that list: civic type r 2005 version ---->4 cars behind, golf V GTI the same (drag from standstill).

I love reading the test figures in the UK Autocar magazine because they're always figures they obtained from their own tests not the boring manufacturers where the 0-60 is the same as 0-62 regardless.

Makes interesting reading I think.

Car 0-60 0-100

Audi TT 3.2 6.8 17.2
Bently Cont. R 6.1 16.9
BMW 535d 6.0 15.0
Crossfire 3.2 7.0 17.4
Focus RS 6.3 16.4
Civic Type R 6.7 16.2
Jag S type 4.2 6.0 15.4
Jag XK4.0 290bhp 6.6 16.7
Lexus SC 430 6.9 17.1
MG Rover 260V8 6.7 17.1
Porsche Boxter 2.7 6.1 15.1
VW Golf R32 6.5 15.6
Volvo S60 R 300bhp 6.3 15.9
Very cool. I love the d.

The Continental GT is a sub 5 second car (4.4 in MotorTrend). The Continental R is one of the older Bentleys. You're talking about a different car.

the 535 still beat the Continental R though!!! And it's a lot more affordable than the GT!

6.0s = 0 to 96km/h... (BMW give 0 to 62.5mph, so 0 to 60 will be lower than 6.5)

That was my original point about the confusion of 0-60mph used in the UK and 0 - 100km/h (62.5mph) used by BMW and Europe. The difference between the two is bigger than most think

Exactly!!!! I mean come on another 4km/h in 0.5 seconds!?!?! Too much if you ask me. It take 6 sec dead to reach 96km/h and over half a second u're only at 100.

The figures are taken from Autocar and they test all cars the same way. I have seen performance figures for 0-60mph and 0-100km/h differ by 0.7 secs on some models.

Fin535's recent vid showed his car doing 100km/h in around 6secs.
