I upgraded to the M ZHP shift knob. You can pick one up at your dealer for about $70. Worth every penny.

What bothers you, the shape, the finish?

Not much you can do on the shape but I did swap out the original shifter with the metal finish for the OEM with the poplar wood finish. An easy DIY...

I recently swapped out my old shifter to the illuminated m5 shifter. A while back ago Schulrog was offering this. I attached his website for you. (motive mods or something like that). I bought mine from a member who bought the kit from him a long time ago. All functions work as should, but you need to purchase an additional harness made to pair the original brains of your shifter to the new one.
Here you go bud

I may be wrong, but I swear their pricing was something like $250 a year ago... now it's $400. OUCH!
