Sorry to hear. That had to be a painful feeling and sound. At work I generally back in for that reason.

Two weekends ago, I added a backup camera and a front camera. They both work great at seeing how close I am to the curbs. I figure one saved trip to the body shop pays for the front camera.

be careful on them curbs!!!, i refuse to park any where near them now

There are a LOT of later model E39 guys who had the same thing happen. Just gotta keep from pulling forward quite so far.

Before I installed the front camera I always tried to be very careful how far I pulled in, but I did pull in too far once when there was only one spot open. I thought I was plenty far away compared to the car on either side of me. Well, it ends up that both cars pulled in until their front wheels were mashed up against the curb. Forturnately, I just barely cleared.
