I got cut up today. Was stuck in traffic, lights went green, cars in front started to move. I was stationary with an island to my right hand side, just about past my front wheel. As I moved forward (literrally taking my foot off the brake to move forward at idle speed, a biker decided to swirve from my inside (footpath side) across my front.
My knee jerk reaction was to swirve right and sure enough I felt a bump.
He obviously just carried on. I pulled up some 100 feet further into a parking bay, got out and just cried...
Anyway, the wheel is truely scuffed, and a small slice of the protuding rim of the tyre can also been seen.
Hopefully the pic will illustrate.
Somone on the office looked after I got back and said the tyre looked ok, I hadn't got thro to the wire ???? whatever that means.
Anyway for all you gurus' in the UK, can anyone tell me how to fix this problem. I feel that I have been truely shafted.
ps. Sorry if I have offended any bikers, but It really hurts.
ps. I know this is embarrising to ask, but can i use glue to fix the rubber bit or do i cut it off, or worse still do I need a new tyre .

Sorry to hear that. I don't know about the tire but the rim will be easy to fix, it doesn't look too badly damaged. If that were here in the US you'd be looking at maybe $100 to $150 to get the rim back into shape and the repair would be pretty much undetectable. I think a few of the UK members (Merv springs to mind) have had wheels repaired so hopefully some one more local than a San Jose based ex-pat will be able to help. Good luck.

I've got the same rims and dred such a situation, so feel for you! There are quite a few companies who can help.. Maybe http://www.wickedwheels.co.uk/ can..?? A BMW dealer did recommend them once to me?? About ?60 a wheel I think??

The rim can be 'easily' repaired by a specialist at modest cost (?50-?100) - your dealer may even know someone...
PS someone has smashed the driver's window (in the attempt to steal something) in my car today so I'm not too chuffed either! They managed to take my duff old (hidden and PIN locked) Tom Tom Go... But bizarrely left my CDs (Perhaps it's my bad taste!?)

I've got the same wheels with the same damage.
Just one word of warning!
A lot of these mobile alloy wheel repair specialists, whilst they may make visually a great job the paints that they use are only cured in most cases by a UV heat lamp.
My dealer had to have one of my wheels repaired as they kerbed it, and returning the car to me it looked brand new and stayed that way for about 2 - 3 months , then the laquer started to peel off. The dealers body shop have now started to repair all there wheels as this apparently was becoming a regular occurance and they had used several different companies. The body shop are able to paint and more importantly bake the wheels to acheive a far longer lasting finish.
Where are you based, i may be able to point you to my dealer if your local enough (Cheshire).

That's a very good call.. The wheels should be "baked" after spraying. The mobile units haven't got the right gear to do a full repair IMO. Take it to a specialist as J9sht suggests. Make sure whoever does the job tells you their procedures. I had a full new set of 172's from BMW as the laquer failed in 2 months on 3 out of 4.. I can only assume someone "doctored" mine pre-delivery.

. Perhaps the knee jerk should have been on the accelarator 
- those couriers give bikers a bad name... and at least you could have gone through the insurers

My dad did the same on my 19" wheels but I just left them because I know He will do it again.

I had similarly kerbed alloy repaired by mobile service Chipsaway, for around ?50. Although a mobile service he had a workshop nearby, so I
took it there & he used the heatlamps. That was a year ago & I cannot see where the damage was..
