Thanks for the update on the Michelins. My 124's (current Dunlop DSST run flats) need new tyres, COSTCO only stock Michelin and I was unsure about buying them.
The rears are over 260GBP each, it's a big expense. I want to make the right choice.

Nice car is the crome grill standard in SA cars? I have the black grill but was considering the crome just to "lift" the front view

Nice car...i was thinking myself for either the 172M or the M5 wheels or maybe the BBS replics (dunno wich one).

Hardly wait for alot more comments about the PS2 tires

The chrome griII is only standard on 8cylinder models here, but the dealer installed the chrome grill before delivery at no charge.

Totally agree with the difference in ride quality. I also changed from 135's to 172's and really noticed the difference between the goodyear runflats and Non RF Continentals.

Your gonna need to drive carefully though as they kerb very easily. One touch and its game over.

So that explains why the Style 135 has a bigger offset but doesn't stick out as much as the Style 172 (which really is 8.5" wide on the front, by the way): the wheel width also comes into play.

Based on the formulae above, l calculated that the rear M172 wheel sticks out approx 24mm if the 172 wheel is 9"wide or 30mm if the 172 is 9.5" wide.

Something is clearly not right. Das, anyone... ideas?

Well, the Style 172 rear wheel is 9.5" wide with a 32mm positive offset. So:

19 x 9.5: 9.5" wide, ET 32mm (1.26" offset) = 4.75" (wheel centerline) + 1.26" offset = 6.01" distance from hub

Is that not correct? The offset is only the positive or negative difference from the centerline of the wheel.

Thanks much. Using bathroom scale, I always weigh the item + me, weight just me, and take the difference. I follow this procedure several times. Then, I average the differences.
