I picked up my car almost two weeks ago. I spent some time in Vegas, but the rest of the time I have been driving. I love it! The car has exceeded my expectations so far.

I just thought I would share a few of my thoughts. No pictures yet because I can?t seem to keep the car clean. I will post them after I get my wheels (20? IForged Essens) put on in the spring. Thanks Fantastic 5. Winter set-up right now.

I have kept the RPMS below 4K, so my experiences are based upon that.

Raves:
-Smooth power at any rev. Wow. This engine is spectacularly smooth. Must be the flat torque curve. I can just pick apart traffic. I am shocked at how it jumps ahead.
-IDrive works fine. What are all the car magazines talking about? An expert in 2 days.
-Planted feel on the road. Not since my 911, 7 years ago have I felt so solid on the road. Confidence inducing feel. I forgot what the road really felt like. The Japanese cars I have driven since just do not feel as good on the road.
-MSPort Package: This is the really big one. This is what separates the car from other 5er?s. Enthusiasts and non see the car as something special. I love it.
-Comfort Access: Amazing how you enter and turn on a car reinforces that you are driving something special
-Carbon Black: This is a spectacular colour when clean.

Not sure: The transmission is so good and smooth, that even in manual sport mode I feel that I should let up on the gas pedal to create that typical manual feel. Slower, but somehow it feels more involved. I do miss a full manual, but love the auto most of the time.

Regrets:
-Should have got the Nav. Not because I need the Nav but the I-Drive seems to be only half there without it.

Sorry to ramble on, but bottom line is the E60 is one great car. I?ll be away from the forum again for awhile. I?ll be driving.

After seeing the recent pictures of your car I have to make sure it shines before I take any of mine. That will have to wait awhile, I need to drive.

And isn't in the middle of the night where you are?

LOL! Hahahahaha!

Yes, it is. Wife is passed out cold after a night of drinking. I wanted some action, but got none. There's jack on TV, so I'm here with you guys. Pretty sad, eh?!

Regardless, congrats man. Very jealous. You have yourself one fine automobile!

Congrats Frank, isn't it an awesome car? I love the 535 twin turbo. I've been slowly opening it up ever since I hit 1200 miles. I actually reached 1200 miles during our NY dinner outing while we were driving on the Westside Highway. I was staying right behind Calton, what a great run. Well Enjoy it and good luck....

Congrats!! I just got my 535 tt a couple of days ago and I agree with you - it's a real pleasure to drive and feels very planted on the road. the MSport package...were you able to order that? Or did you have that added by the dealer after it arrived? Please share details and now I really want to see a pic of your MSport 535i!!

Congrats FRANK970,

Just drive it in carefully, the enjoy will wait.

Fine car and a good choice, enjoy it now, because after you get your 20" wheels,
with some rubber painted on them, the feeling is gone. (Sorry to say).

The TomTom 720 is better than the BMW original navi, so no harm done here,
you just did some some money.

Here are the photos. I'm not a great photographer, but anyways. I tried to capture the Carbon Black. It is a spectacular colour.

I had myself convinced that I needed the 20" wheels to offset the size of the vehicle when viewed from the side. I must admit the M135's look far better than I thought they would. I will wait until spring to put on the 20's. I hope the ride does not suffer too much.
