Yes its only the SMG that you get the M-sport pack look a like steering wheel... Basically the 645 steering wheel. Its not the M5 wheel nor the M sport pack wheel. it doesnt have the thumb grips like the M sport pack and doesnt have M color stitching like the M5s. So its a basic dumb down look-a-like.

Over here you can order it with your new car seperately. So yo don't need a package.

I drove a car with the sportsteerwheel. Although it feels good I didn't like the look of it with the round airbag. So I went for the triangular airbag standard wheel.

It was an extra for something like 120 euros. (very small price)

Actually with SMG your steering wheel is not the same that you get with the M-tech kit or on a real Emmy.
BMW has three different steering wheels for the E60:
Standard
Sports
M-Tech

With SMG you get the Sports steering wheel.
