Malone,
Update your signature and list your options. Click on "My Controls" and then edit your signature.
Software versions are numeric. So many people you talk to at the dealers don't have a clue. We really know more about a lot of this than they do. A service tech will have to tell you what software they installed. It should be 13.something...

Do you go to Wide World of Cars in Spring Valley for service?? I heard that the service manager there was one of the best in the region.

A couple of things - I just called my dealer and he said that my software version was "NAV".? Does that make sense?? I was expecting a number, like 13.1.

That last post was mine.
A couple of things - I just called my dealer and he said that my software version was "NAV".? Does that make sense?? I was expecting a number, like 13.1.
I also asked about Bluetooth functionality and he said that if I bought a BMW control module for $434, plus two others accessories for about $100 each, then I could have Bluetooth in my car which would work with any Bluetooth enabled phone.? From what I read, Bluetooth should be in all 2005 5 series.? I got a passkey with the car, and I can access the Bluetooth menu from the IDrive.? Does anyone know what he's talking about?? All I can think of is that he is confusing the functionality in the 2005 cars with the Bluetooth implementation in prior BMWs.
Also, I have the Logic7 system in my car.? There's an "AUTOSCAN" via the AM band menu, but the FM band menu has a menu listing called "ALL STATIONS" which seems to do the same thing as AUTOSCAN.? I find the difference in naming intriguing.? My FM RDS does not seem to be working either.? I do not have call letters for any of the FM stations.? Is this functionality unavailable to me because I have navigation or something?

The name of the dealership I use is Westchester BMW, on Route 119 in (or right outside of) White Plains, NY. Very close to most of the Westchester highways.
As i mentioned in my earlier post, it is a "factory" dealership. The sales people and severice advisors have all been very helpful, and the techs I have dealt with have all been very knoweldgeable.
It is the only BMW dealership I have ever dealt with so I cannot compare to other BMW service, but it is far superior to any other dealership I ever dealt with, including Volvo, Honda, and Saab.

Two weeks with the car and all seems great. I was able to get over the
last nagging issue I had with the car yesterday when I was able to get the
car to pair with my Nokia 6260 cellphone. The car is not fully functional
with the phone, but I am able to use the car's microphone and speakers to
carry a conversation, which is all that I really need.
I am going to take the car in next week to get invisible bras put on the
front and rear bumpers. I hope the detailer will do a great job.
Robg - Thanks for the info! I'll have to stop by that dealership - give me
another reason to drive the car!
