I'm driving a 2006 Cadillac DTS right now. BMW stealership gave it to me as a loaner until they do scheduled maintenance, seat belt repair and put 4 FREE tires on my baby.
Definitely handles like a ship in high seas. Smooth ride though in a straight line.

I'm currently in the same position, but have yet to return to my e60. I'm visiting family and driving an x5 3.0 at the moment. Some things that I notice is that the seat belt is much more difficult to pull, requiring more strength. The wheel is more difficult to turn and the car is soooooo slow! I miss my e60

The DTS and the 5-Series really aren't in the same vehicle class, so driving them is obviously going to feel different.
I love the DTS as a rental car. It's certainly light years better than any "large" Cadillac they've ever made.
