Last week, my 2006's i-Drive reported for a couple of days I was overdue for a microfilter change. This week is says it's due in 1400 miles.
Any thoughts on why this happened?
Thanks!

It calculates base on how you drive and how you use the air... the probable case is a few days ago you were driving using your AC on high fan and blowing outside air in... then and today you used your AC on low fan speed and used re-circulate mode... so under "THIS" use... you will get more life out of the microfilter so it estimates you can still drive 1400 miles before it needs replacing where as with high fan and outside air you can only last 800.
Mine did the same thing... almost exactly the same... it was at 800 so I made an appoitment to get it changed and then the next day it shot back up and so i had to wait till it went back down before i was able to take it in.

Mine was pretty erratic in terms of MF changing, too, so when it started bouncing between 300 and 1000 miles I just got it done.

Thanks for the replies!
As the season's beginning to change, I have been changing the AC settings so that's probably what happened. The only problem is I made an appointment next week to have it changed along with some other things. Hopefully I won't have to take it back again.

How many miles do you have on your car?
Cuz if you request them to change the Microfilter and its not under 1000 miles they cant do it. BMW will not pay for it. Even though it is fluctuating above and under they need it to say <1000 and probably donwload that to the computer so they can bill BMW.
