I had the screen on my wifes car changed under warranty due to a dead pixel. Im sure before it was replaced that when the headlights were on it went dim and then brighter when they were turned off..
Am I daft because now the screen in the day seems very dull and I have had to turn the brightness almost full up to see it but at night it seems ok.
Help!

Pro Nav screen

Thanks

Ya it does go dim when you turn on the headlighs cuz that usually means its night time and is dark outside so you dont need a REALLLY bright screen to see in the dark.

But the daytime being dull I'm not sure about. Mines seems ok.

The iDrive screen has a light sensor. It could be that it is not working with the replacement display. It is the little hole in the center just at the bottom of the screen. Cover it up with your finger/thumb and it should brighten, shine flashlight at it and it should dim. If no changes then the sensor is bad. I can actually see mine dim and brighten on cloudy days or while driving on heavily treed roads on fairly bright day.
