I bought my 2010 550i w/ 39K miles. At time of purchase the I-drive read I will need front brakes at 7K miles. Since then I have put about 2K miles on it and the I-drive still reads replace the front brakes in 7K miles.
Is the 7K number suppose to decrease as the mileage increases?

Normally it does decrease with mileage. However, it is not linear and depends on the style of driving you have done. Highway miles with little braking may not change it at all. Gentle braking and a lot of coasting will also have little effect.
My new F10 was set at 50,000km for both. After 8,000 km they read 48,000km front and 38,000km rear.
At best they seem to be good guesses of when you will need new brakes.

Thanks for that info. I do a lot of highway driving and I am gentle in the brakes, at least I try to be. So maybe that's the reason. Ill keep going and see if it decreases.
