I-Drive knob going bananas
Hello guys,
Quick question:
Can the i-drive control knob be replaced without the need for coding?
The knob is going bananas. spinning in one direction or the other and it is extremely hard to input something.
The CCC is not the problem as it has been replaced 6 weeks ago.
I bought the car only 3 months ago and the knob has never worked 100% right. It is deteriorating more and more now.
I want to replace it, but I want to know it it is DIY-able. i.e. Can I just buy a replacement from the dealer and install it.
Best regards, Erik

If you replace it with the same part (i.e. part number is the same) then you can do a swap without need for coding.
I would double check however, if your weird behaviour is actually caused by malfunctioning I-drive knob.

Thanks for the information Paulie.
What test would you suggest? The CCC was replaced. It had a clear problem (reboots) and that is fixed now. Is there something else related to i-drive that can cause problems?
Best regards, Erik

i-drive control knob can be replaced without coding only with the same knob for CCC. If you use MASk knob you'll need coding, coz MASK knob is a bit different in the type of rotation.
