So ever since we bought this car the i drive display has acted up so i have done a little testing and haven’t really found much the screen will only come on when you first start the car for about 10 seconds the rest of the i drive system stays on and continues functioning as i would expect but the screen stays black when driving now i have run the battery dead trying to find the problem with this thing if the battery voltage drops below 11.9 volts the display will stay on (like when you start it and the voltage drops for a second) but once the voltage come back to 12.0 or higher the display shuts right back off im thinking its a display problem but wanted to see if anybody had a second opinion on things to test or try

 

If the system is working and you screen is going out just buy a second hand one and replace it. They are fairly cheap on eBay or the junk yard.

 

But why would the display work fine with a low voltage

 

That honestly does not make sense, could just be coincidental.

Read the BMW codes, guesswork is not a good method to troubleshoot issues.

 

Cant find any codes in the ccc unit any specific module you would like me to look into for codes

 

This is current code list its long i know but got the car cheap in the process of fixing it

 

CCC could be just fine; but the backlight may be intermittent. @seanjordan20 's idea might be your best bet.
