should the i-drive knob spin freely on pro nav ?
i bought 2 units and they both said they were "high" drives, but one spins freely and the other clicks (like my old non nav i-drive)
help???

thanks felix, so the difference between the 2 is not only the electronis inside, but the (non nav ) "low" i-drive clicks (almost like a rachet) when you twist it, and the high drive twists/spins freely,
thank you for that.
thank you for that.

ok, i have just chainged the i-drive controller AGAIN...(it only takes me half an hour now
felix was right, not only does the "high" controler spin freely when no power, but its about half again in weight, i fitted the correct one and everything works fine.
its electronic wizardry, how when powered up the high drive clicks/rachet when you scroll, but with no power it spins freely...baffles me.
anyway all done, i just need to send one of the controlers back for a refund...(yes sir its the right one my ar*e)
