It is usually 90+ here in the summer. When I go to take my dog out before leaving for work, I like the idea of starting my car and letting the AC run, this way when i get back let my dog inside, I can get in a cool car, especially wearing pants, a long sleeve shirt, and a tie. Unfortunately you have to hit the brake to start the car, which requires getting in. So i usually put the key in, lean in, one hand on the brake, one hand on the start button. I am sure my neighbors are wondering what the hell I am doing.

that and the fact that i cant view my ipod contents without making playlists. I now have a lot of long "on the go" playlists because I will want to hear something, i will pull the ipod out of the glovebox and make a quick OTG Playlist. then hook the ipod back up.

but really, i started this thread because of the brake and starting thing. what is the purpose of this?

Why don't you just set your auto-climate setting (via iDrive in the "Parked Car" menu of climate controls) to turn on at a certain time in the AM so you don't have to start your car?

pg 115 and 116

oh yeah, and the whole "brake thing": I believe it is a safety measure....kinda like those stupid seat belts and that annoying chime if you don't buckle it

just 90 degrees!! sh*t it was 102 today in Vegas, hot as hell. and it will only get hotter! today is a record heat for the day and it ain't even summer yet.

to answer you question about the brakes, i'm guessing its a safety feature so your car wont take off at start up? i honestly don't see how it could happen if the car is in park or neutral...what do you guys think? and yeah i gotta start using the auto a/c....
