Hello Everyone, I just got my 06 530 I. I followed these exact instructions with Nero 7 and my CD will not Play the CD option on the Menu will still grayed out.

Normal Data CD-ROM (ISO)
No Multisession
Data Mode 1
File System ISO 9660:1999 (this is a KEY setting)
File Name Length Max 207 chars (will automaticly set when you select the file system above)
Burn Speed 8x -- don't burn your CD's at max speed because there's more room for error
Disc-at-Once write method
Make sure to check off "Finalize CD" before burning

I have tried copying a regular CD to the same media and it played in the CD player (So its not the media). Any suggestions?? :'(

The player needs to see the MP3 format, not Normal data. Select the MP3 disk option and try..

when you say 06 530, I'd assume you mean a 2005 build.

Are you sure the MP3 feature was already in when the car was built ? BMW announced it, before it worked.

You might require a software update + the MP3 activation within this update. Your dealer should sort you out.

Do you know which software version your car is running ?

Could this be misinterpreted?

Unlike PC CD-ROM devices, some consumer electronics players will not recognise the disc, let alone play it, unless it has been finalised.

Finalised ISO discs with MP3s play fine in my 535D (April 2006 build) CD player (but not in the changer - until the software upgrade).
