Congrats, but that's not really a waiting list. That's a pretty standard delivery time for a car being built to your specific order. I've bought 3 new german cars, and my wife 2 new german cars, and all 5 of them took 3 months to arrive.

 

I bought my old three series new and the 5er new...ordered the 325is in June 93, picked up in October 93; ordered the 5er in May 06, delivered in Sep 06. In both cases, about 3 1/2 months. But worth the wait!

 

the way a cars value depreciates its almost foolish to buy a car new.

 

I lease because I beat the living crap out of my cars. Screaming around the twisties in M2 with the skid control light going off like a Christmas tree and the revs up at 6000 does not make for long engine or transmission life. I don't want to live with the consequences of that when the car gets to high miles.

And to me, there is nothing like being the first one to own/lease a car. I love new cars.

 

Honestly, is that really necessary? I don't think a forum devoted to luxury cars needs some know it all telling them tidbits of condescending advice.

 

7 weeks for my 08 535xi. Ordered it September of 07, arrived end of November.

 

12 weeks for mine... well worth the wait though

 

No waiting. Since I usually buy cars with basic options only there is always one in stock or in transit that matches my requirements. I had to wait for 10 months for MB E55 in 2000 though; did not like that car anyway.
