Hi guys,

I went to the dealership to get the active steering sensor replaced as due to a recall and they flashed my CIP to the latest version and now my eyebrowse on the headlights dont light up anymore. Is there a setting to turn them back on?

HmMm I don't believe they gave you the latest. I read that someone claimed a new CIP was out to fix that very issue. Might want to call the dealership back up and ask to make an appointment. See if you can get an M5 loaner

do a search on here, and you will find its a software bug that should have been fixed on latest versions. Looks like your dealer didnt use a bang up to date version.

I had my car reprogrammed yesterday, and the eyebrows work.

The current version is apparetly 24.x.x but i was told y my dealer mines 27.something - they might not know what they are talking about tho.....

There isnt a setting to turn them on or off....

you need the new software that came out a few weeksago.
your dealer is very outdated, I thort the dealer are ment to have the latest hitec stuff from BMWHQ?

I am confused!

When I had my iPod Interface installed in late September - they flashed my 530xiT for the iPod and also to correct an air-conditioning fault. They said they used version 23.x.x

Yet when I turn on the car's lights - my eyebrows are all lit up.

Am I just lucky - or was it because of my Scots heritage?

You need CIP 24.00

There are several 23.xx.xx versions. 23.01.00, 23.02.00, 23.02.01 and possibly another. Late September we were only up to 23.01.00. 23.02.00 was the culprit so you were updated prior to the offending code. Also let us not forget that there are so many combinations and permutations of CCCs, M-ASKs, CANs, LKMs, etc., that there is no way that 100% of the e60s (or e63s) will respond in the identical way to each PROGMAN (formerly CIP) upgrade. Many of us on same software version have different results.

Thanks for the info cobradav - I sure won't run out and get a new CIP update - mine seems to work just fine.

That's in line with the advice of the former Service Manager at my dealer - he said if one's software works - don't screw with it. (He left after one of the mulit-dealreship companies bot my old dealer out. :'( )

I had mine flashed because of an A/C freeze-up problem and the installation of the iPod interface. I guess I will wait until I really need a software update before I have it flashed again.

Thanks for you input - now I understand why I am not seen the problems reported by others who have had 23.x.x installed!

I just went back and had CIP 24.010 installed and the eyebrows still doesnt work. Is there a newer version than that?
